Pfaff Embroidery File Formats Explained

  • VP3 – Main Pfaff proprietary format for modern machines.
  • VP4 – Latest Pfaff format used in Icon series.
  • VIP – Older Pfaff/Viking format.
  • PCS – Legacy card-based format (older Creative series).
  • DST – Commercial embroidery format (may require conversion).

Important Notes

Older Creative 75xx models are limited to 14 color changes or 14,000 stitches per file. If exceeded, the design must be split into multiple files.

File Conversion

Most modern Pfaff machines primarily use VP3 or VP4. If your design is in PES, DST, EXP, or other formats, convert it using embroidery software before transferring via USB.
